About Me
Hi, I’m Jared! I'm a Technical Designer with a deep passion for crafting immersive gameplay, especially in the FPS genre. From indie games to AAA shooters, I specialize in designing, prototyping, and implementing systems that make gameplay feel responsive, rewarding, and unforgettable.
My journey into game development began in high school, where I first explored 3D modeling and animation before diving into scripting with MEL and Python. That early curiosity evolved into a career focused on blending design and engineering from automating pipelines to shipping games. I earned my degree in Arts, Technology, and Emerging Communication from the University of Texas at Dallas, concentrating on Animation and Games, with a heavy emphasis on gameplay programming in C++, C#, and Blueprints.
Since then, I’ve worked on a variety of projects, including Grimhook, an indie hit with over 200,000 copies sold on Steam; Project Chameleon, a multiplayer FPS in Unreal Engine 5; and The Colony 2044, a simulation and colony management game developed in Unity. I’ve also contributed as a UX researcher on major titles like DOOM Eternal and Borderlands 3, where I used player data to inform design decisions and improve overall gameplay feel.
Whether I’m fine-tuning movement systems, building interactive UI, or designing tools to streamline development, I’m driven by a love of games and a commitment to pushing the player experience further. If you're building something exciting and want a designer who thrives at the intersection of systems, gameplay, and player insight — let’s connect!
